Dr Anne-Marie Sim is the co-founder and lead for the South-West Social Mobility Commission (SWSMC) and a social anthropologist of children/childhood. She and Lee Elliot Major set up the SWSMC in the wake of stark evidence about the state of social mobility in the South-West peninsula. Anne-Marie has a DPhil, masters and bachelor’s degree from the University of Oxford. Her DPhil involved eighteen months of ethnographic fieldwork with children in and out of school environments in south London. Prior to co-founding the SWSMC she was a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group.
