Equity Scorecard for schools

Equity Scorecard for schools

The Equity Scorecard is our self-evaluation toolkit designed to help schools level the education playing field and improve outcomes for pupils facing additional barriers to learning. It offers a practical step for schools, with reflective questions, examples of innovative practice, and evidence-based equity best bets.

Schools can engage with the Scorecard in two ways:

  1. As part of a community of practice

Phase 2 roll-out is starting in November 2025. Register with us now if you’d like to participate by completing this form. You can also sign up to our next webinar on 18th March, 4 – 5pm, here. Participating schools will have access to:

  • Group support from the Commission’s team
  • A community of practice through open webinars and benchmarking
  • Opportunities to learn alongside peer schools also using the Scorecard

In order to give informed consent, please read the Participant Information Sheet here.

  1. Independent use

Alternatively, schools can use the Scorecard independently — downloading the toolkit and supporting resources to work through at their own pace.

Both routes are designed to empower schools to strengthen their equity practice in ways that fit their local context.

To access all Scorecard resources, click here. This is free to everyone, but you will need to register with us to obtain a password. This is so that we can track use of the Scorecard. If you are trialling the Scorecard as part of a Multi-Academy Trust, please sign up each school individually.

To access the Equity Case Studies Library, click here. For those wanting to submit a case study, please download a case study template and send it to us.

You can read the original Equity Scorecard Report here but please note that we have made some changes to the Scorecard following Phase 1 of the rollout. We’ll be publishing a report on Phase 1 and the updated Scorecard soon.
