Dr Anne-Marie Sim is the co-founder and lead for the South-West Social Mobility Commission (SWSMC) and co-author of Cracking the Class Code (with Lee Elliot Major). She and Lee set up the SWSMC to galvanise action to improve opportunity for young people from under-resourced backgrounds in the South-West peninsula. Anne-Marie has a DPhil, masters and bachelor’s degree from the University of Oxford. Her social anthropology DPhil involved eighteen months of ethnographic fieldwork with children in and out of school environments in south London. Prior to co-founding the SWSMC she was a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group.
